The Team

Adam Shaw
Technical Director

ThinAir Communications was originally a joint venture between Adam Shaw and Jonathan Dix as a simple point-to-point link between homes that has quickly transformed and matured into a service that can benefit those wanting faster, cheaper broadband and phone services.

Born and bred in Palmerston North, Adam decided he wanted to offer Manawatu a new generation of digital broadband and telephony services supplied over wireless connections. For over 10 years Adam has been passionate about all aspects of computers, networking and technology and more recently wireless infrastructure.

He brings on board his vast knowledge base of skills in these areas to become the Technical Director of ThinAir Communications.

Jonathan Dix
Operations Manager / Network & Coding Technician


With many years servicing electronics and technical qualifications to match, Jonathan plays a crucial roll in maintaining the core infrastructure and problem solving at customer premises.

Jonathan is also responsible for all SQL and Mikrotik script coding that have taken the systems used by ThinAir to a leading edge standard of operation allowing advanced customer management and a unique telephony billing system.

Nick Skarrot
Network Technician

Nick brings along many years of experience in dealing with the technical aspects of networking and servers, including Linux and Microsoft Windows.

His previous experiences include deploying communication's networks for Badminton Manawatu and Badminton New Zealand in support of the Australasian region's largest badminton tournament, and LAN design/server setup for Massey University LAN gaming club, TCOSY.

Nick's main strength lies with Open Source software, especially the Linux operating system, especially the popular Ubuntu distribution and CentOS. He wishes to thank everyone for coming on board with us to experience the future of communication, today.

Mark Poulopoulos
General Manager


Mark brings to ThinAir Communications Ltd some 35 years of senior business management experience. His extensive background has included such senior roles as Company Director and Managing Director as well as extensive experiences and strengths in Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Product Development, Account Management and Exports.
My career experiences have included such business sectors as corporate, manufacturing, retail, wholesale, recruitment, training and coaching as well as being involved with a national industry training organisation.

I believe that these strategic skills and strengths along with the other dedicated professionals in the company will benefit ThinAir Communications Ltd to build a strong, versatile and exciting innovative company that will lead the market in wireless services.
